I'm no urban planner but when it came to write down Paradise City, I wanted the city to have it all! I compared populations of some of the United States biggest cities and decided to settle somewhere in the middle by making the metropolis' polulation slightly higher than Los Angeles.  Randomly generating numbers, I came up with a population of 4 481 893 residents.

The city was divided into Districts/Neighborhood and I wanted each one of them to have their own vibe/feel, kinda like the Grand Theft Auto Series. Here are the Districts/Neighborhoods I came up with...

MAIN PARADISE CITY DISTRICTS

China Grove: Inspired by New York's Chinatown, China Grove ranks among the largest and oldest Chinese ethnic enclaves in the United States, China Grove, located south of Crescent Island, is home to about 27% of the city's Asian population. It is home of one of the best noodle shop franchise around: Wok My World!

Golden Acres:  Closer to a small independent town, the district of Golden Acres is separated from the rest of Paradise City by gated walls and fences and located on the southern side of Paradise City Bay. Loosely inspired by Beverly Park in Los Angeles. Golden Acres is the home of the rich, famous, and wealthy retired denizens of the city. The neighborhood, filled with the largest, most outrageously expensive homes in the city, boasts nearly every amenities imaginable.

Rhapsody Terrace: Inspired by Notting Hill (London), this district is located along the north-eastern coast of the island. It is a cosmopolitan and multicultural neighborhood known for its carnivals and cultural celebrations. Motorized traffic is very limited in the area, so most people ride scooters, bikes, or walk around the area.

Platinum Heights: Inspired by Theatre District Condos in Toronto, this an urban district is located on the southernmost part of the island that offers a modern and vibrant living environment. This unique district combines condominium towers with reputable shops, hotels, and the prestigious Paradise City University. Platinum Heights is home to some of the best restaurants, shops, spas, bars, bike paths, and parks in the city.

Silver Plaza: Also referred to as The Hub, this district is considered downtown Paradise City. It is located on the northwestern part of Crescent Island. This district is the central borough for business, culture, and government in Paradise City. It is also where one can find the most luxurious condominium towers on the islands and, of course, nightclubs, record labels, and music venues. It is also where all of Paradise City's story originates from. Silver Plaza is loosely inspired by Time Square/Wall Street in New York City.

The Katakömbs: The main idea for this district originates from the Las Vegas Tunnels where thousands lives but brought it up a notch by making this district, the main district for black metal, evil forces worshippers and those left behind.  Because Paradise City is built on an island prone to occasional downpours and flash floods, an elaborate maze of tunnels was created to capture and redirect that water. Inside these tunnels one can find an entire underground makeshift city called The Katakömbs. While this is not an official district yet, it is significant enough to be included as a city’s district. Aesthetic goes from makeshift to full gothic cathedral style as local artists use their talent to transform the industrial waterways into something hauntingly beautiful.

The Jungle: Inspired from Detroit slums, The Jungle is the oldest district in Paradise City, this neighborhood's buildings are in a physical state of disrepair, the environment has degraded, the conditions have become unhygienic, and access to basic services and facilities, such as electricity, potable water, drainage, schools, health centers, and recreation centers, is difficult. Still, one can find dive bars, crappy and violent venues, criminality on the rise. A great place ... Yeah! There are several factors contributing to the current state of The Jungle. These factors include the natural aging of buildings, lack of maintenance, improper use of buildings, poor sanitation in terms of sewage and solid waste disposal, and incorrect land development.

The Wild Side: Inspired from New York City's Coney Island, The Wild Side is seaside boardwalk and an amusement park. It also has several other tourist attractions such as skeeball, ball tossing, and shooting galleries. Tourists looking for more edgy entertainment can attend the Psycho Circus, a freak show that has been running for almost a century now. The area hosts numerous local events as well. Wild Side’s boardwalk contains many rides along its 5 miles but among them a ferris wheel, a carousel, bumper cars, and two roller coasters!

Ventures Beach: This one is inspired from Venice Beach/Muscle Beach, Los Angeles. It runs along the Wild Side's boardwalk and is open to the public. In total, it measures approximately 2.7 miles (4.3 kilometers). It features sand (lots of it), lifeguards (like in the movies), surf music, partying all night, surfing, gorgeous waves, '50-'60s vibes, an outdoor weightlifting platform, and multiple surfing clubs. You can also find the Crescent Island Aquarium, food courts, and arcades, as well as direct access to the Wild Side's boardwalk.

These are the main districts of Paradise City. There is a lot to do, and discover on this fantastic island but there is more than meets the eye! Currently working on Purple Hills as well as brief descriptions of surrounding islands such as Jailhouse Rock, Crown Lands and the adjacent Islands in the Stream, Helena Island, Sabbath Island, Stardom Island, and Bowie Island.
